By Water, Spirit, and Spit-Up

Alice was baptized July 18. It was a beautiful ceremony and we had almost 30 people attend and celebrate with us.

Of course, not everything went perfectly. I thought that I had outwitted my 11 week old by wearing a bib on her until the very last moment. I took it off, proudly marched up the the stage, got to my place, and she proceeded to spit-up all over me, her, and the floor. As you can see, it was running down my arm and onto my foot. Someone in our group kindly handed me her spit-up cloth and my mother helped clean me up. My father-in-law noted, however, that we didn't have time to get it off my foot. Ah the glamorous life of a mother!

The service moved on. . .

and Alice received a blessing and was baptized, with only a small pause to hand off a squirmy Luke to Matthew's dad.

My beautiful, dear friend Sara is Alice's Godmother and read scripture.

What a bunch of people! Can you believe everybody fit into our house for pizza and brownie sundaes after the service?! We are a blessed family indeed to have so many loved ones take the time out of their day to support us.
Alice's dress was beautiful, but I'm kinda bummed it is dry clean only! :)
