A boy, his bear and a pair of boots

This is Bear. He has no formal name and wears a Christmas scarf in the middle of summer. Luke received bear last Christmas and has not put him down since. Okay, I lied. We do not let bear leave the house, except to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house to spend the night. Luke has certainly tried to take bear to the store, water park, church, and any other place a toddler might go, but we won't let him for fear of losing bear. You see, there is no sleeping in our home until bear has been tucked in next to Luke. I remember one night bear was missing for a whole 10 minutes and let me just say there was much gnashing of teeth. (from adults and toddlers alike)

Luke insists that Bear gets equal treatment in life, going so far as to sharing his cup and asking for bear to be diapered.

Bear is also Luke's partner and sometime scapegoat in crime. Please note the dismantled cupboard behind them.

Please pardon the poor photo, but Luke (or bear) jammed something into my card reader and it is no longer working but note the cowboy boots. Luke discovered that he could get them off and on by himself and has been proudly wearing them to play with bear. Oh the joys of being 1.
