Happy Holidays! and our snow day

We had a wonderful Christmas. After a few learning attempts, Luke finally got into the whole opening packages thing and would go from one package to the next, making exactly one rip before moving on. Ah well, that is what Daddy is for. This was one of his favorites, a firehouse. He plays with it daily and I am always finding building blocks, cars, and little people in it.

For New Years, we decided to treat ourselves to the most unhealthy things we could think of, and because we are Veggies, we decided to go all out and eat meat and fries from our favorite fast food restaurants. Luke was content with his french fries until he realized that he could remove Daddy's burgers from the cute little boxes they came in and decided that if Daddy was eating it, so would he. We just looked at each other, shrugged, and let him. So, at 15 months old, our son had his first taste of meat. We are okay with letting him try things as he gets older. We are veggies in our home, but that does not mean he will be when he grows up and we are good with that. Everybody has to make that decision for themselves. However, I do have to put it out there, that while Matthew and I may fudge the meat rules for our children every once in a while, we do expect our parents to strictly adhere to a no meat rule with them. Parents prerogative I guess. And our first real snow of the season was great fun. . .
Matthew pulled Luke around in his sled, getting a great work out. . .

And Luke had a great time riding, even pulling out the sign language to ask for "more."
I would just like to add that I was able to get my snow pants on, despite being 24 weeks pregnant. They didn't zip and I had to find some really stretched out long johns to cover the lower part of my tummy, but I got them on!
